Big Ideas for a Small Planet: Work

A programming note: This week marks the debut of the twelfth episode in the Sundance Channel's weekly series, Big Ideas for a Small Planet. I have the pleasure of appearing as a commentator in this episode, simply titled Work, focusing on green issues in the workplace. (I also serve as an advisor to the series.)

The half-hour program is scheduled to debut July 3 at 9 pm EST; check local listings. (Segments can be viewed on the series website and the entire episode downloaded from the iTunes Store).

In this episode, Mathias Wackernagel and Susan Burns (pictured here), co-creator of the Global Footprint Network audit an Oakland, Calif., company to show it how to reduce its environmental impact; Kim Jordan and Jeff Lebesch, founders of New Belgium Brewing Co., demonstrate their commitment to the environment and their employees by creating an ideal working environment; and David Hertz, founder and president of Syndesis Inc., takes us through the design and construction of a green office space. Interface's Ray Anderson, eco-video journalist Simran Sethi, and I appear occasionally as talking-head commentators.
