Can greener companies pay less for MBAs?

Indeed, you may want to add this to the business case for corporate environmental and social responsibility: talented employees may be willing to work for less money.

That's a conclusion drawn from a survey, released this month, of more than 800 MBAs from 11 leading North American and European business schools. It found "a substantial number were willing to forgo some financial benefits to work for an organization with a better reputation for corporate social responsibility and ethics."

So, how much money might an MBA forego to work for a company with a strong record of responsibility to employees, the environment, and society? As much as $18,500 a year, say the researchers. Read on.
